February 3, 2005 Meeting

ATTENDANCE: Sue Shockley, Debbie Holwegner, Karlene Pisarcik, Darrell and Tammy Andersen, Joel Farrell, Lorna Simard, Al Lien, Skip Hougland, Gary and Vicki Taylor, Cheryl McNicholas, Sonja Berg, Cody Hobbs, Misti Andersen, Phil Hamel, Jennifer Woodcock, Anna Holstrom, Patrick Kainz, Connie Garrett and Bill Montgomery.
CALL TO ORDER: Darrell called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
MINUTES of JANUARY 27, 2005: Remove Phil Hamels name and add Cheryl McNicholas’ name to the attendance. Sue moved to approve the January 27, 2005 minutes as corrected. Joel seconded. Motion carried.
MARKETING: Sue reported she needs more articles for the Chronicle tab. Television ads will run on KBZK, KTVM and the ABC channel. Radio ads on all Clear Channel station to start soon, including the new station 104.7 in Big Sky. There will be a few ads in the Livingston Enterprise and the Three Forks Herald. The Dr. Pepper display with the free drawings will be in twenty-one stores. Gary Taylor will be speaking on XL Country when time allows. Need to get WinterFest posters distributed.
McLIEN’S FFA FARM BARN: Other than maybe needed some sheep, this is good to go. Sue is going to bring in her pig Breakfast if there is room in the Farm Barn. Lorna will contact Connie Sparks to see if she will bring in her miniature horses.
DOG PULLING CONTEST: Good to go. Coke is also taking our posters for this event around to places they deliver. Coors is making up the drink coupons for entries. Contestants receive two free drink coupons for each entry. Contestants can turn in drink coupons to Bozeman Lions and then Coors will reimburse the Lions Club.
OFFICIAL BEVERAGE CONTEST: Debbie reported we have 15 entries. Scheduling times for the judging is underway. The Zebra Lounge will be serving the winning beverage.
INDOOR/OUTDOOR EXHIBITS: Tammy reported there are currently 43 exhibitors taking up 58 indoor booths spaces. Exhibitors are being put on a waiting list. Karlene spoke with Bozeman Ford and they are very interested in outdoor space.
KID’S ACTIVITIES: Debbie reported Jenny Francis with FCCLA is taking care of the kid’s activities. Jenny has 2-3 volunteers for each day to help with this. The balloon-tying guy from Balloon Etc. will be at the kid’s activities on Saturday from 12pm to 3pm.
BOZEMAN LIONS: No report from the Lions. Sue reported the Lions will be in the People Barn and Vikki Taylor with Wineglass Catering will be in the indoor arena concessions.
DECORATING AND SETUP: Lorna is working on the Photography Show and getting volunteers to help with this. Joel, Lorna and Skip are helping with the Tack Swap. Anna Holstrom and Jennifer Woodcock volunteered to help with setup and taking entries on Thursday. Connie Garrett will help with the Tack Swap Consignments. Karlene has arranged with 7 to 8 volunteers to help with quilt entries and setup. The dog pull needs straw to go on the sides of the track; and the track needs to be 4’ to 5’ wide and 30’ long.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Schedule was reviewed for accuracy and last minute changes. Added sponsors. Carter Benedict will be here Friday evening.
EVENTS THAT ARE GOOD TO GO:
Chili Cook-Off, Ag in the Classroom, Dog Events, Cowboy Camp, ATV Ice Racing, Children’s Art Show, Quilt Show, Horse Sale, Auto Ice Racing, Photography Show, BAHA Hockey Tournament, Rabbit and Poultry Shows, Horse Play Day, Tack Swap, Working Horse & Driver Contest, and the Kid’s Bozeman Roundup Foot & Wheelchair Rodeo.
OTHER BUSINESS: Geronimo – Montana’s largest horse will be here. Patrick Kainz will be having a motorcycle raffle and will setup in front of the Haynes Pavilion. Sara Vaessen has 95 horses for the sale (up from last year) and four stallions.
