Wild West WinterFest
February 10, 2005 Meeting
As Approved at the March 17, 2005 Meeting


ATTENDANCE:  Darrell Andersen, Sue Shockley, Debbie Holwegner, Karlene Pisarcik, Lorna Simard, Al Lien, Skip Hougland, Todd Kesner, Blair Howze, Dave Kraft, Sherri Sigvardt, Gary and Vicki Taylor, Cheryl McNicholas, Sonja Berg, Connie Garrett and Bill Montgomery.

CALL TO ORDER:  Darrell called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.
MINUTES:  Sue moved to approve the February 3, 2005 minutes as presented.  Karlene seconded.  Motion carried.

MARKETING:  Sue reported our commercial would be on three TV stations.  Radio spots are running.  Also doing radio spots with the Eagle radio station that covers Ennis, Big Sky, and West Yellowstone.  Connie stated she has an ad running in the Weekly Real Estate paper.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR EXHIBITS:  Karlene reported we have 48 indoor exhibitors using a total of 64 – 10’x10’ spaces.  Bozeman Ford is our only outdoor exhibitor at this time.

BOZEMAN LIONS:  No report from the Lions.   Sue reported we would like them to serve beer Friday night at the dance and at ATV ice racing.  Sue needs to get clarification as to whether the Lions will be in the People Barn or not.  If they don’t want to be in there, the Zebra will go in there and have a full service bar and serve the official beverage.

DECORATING AND SETUP:  We will begin setup as early as possible on Monday.  Need to check the lights on the fence and ticket booths.  We will mark indoor exhibit spaces on Monday evening.  Any special requests need to be given to operations staff right away.

VOLUNTEER:  Still need gate help.  Lorna, Connie, Skip, Joel and Danielle will help with the Tack Swap on Friday.  Still need more help on Saturday.  The dog pull contest could use one more person to help on Sunday.

POSTERS:  Schedule is done and will be available to deliver on Monday.  Posters are being put out at different locations.

AG IN THE CLASSROOM:  Todd reported there are 291 kids signed up for Thursday and 190 signed up for Friday.  Speakers are Ken Perry with Wheat Montana and Glen Droug is speaking on potatoes.

EVENTS THAT ARE GOOD TO GO:
McLien’s FFA Farm Barn, Dog Keg Pull Contest, Chili Cook-Off, Ag in the Classroom, Dog Events, Cowboy Camp, ATV Ice Racing, Children’s Art Show, Quilt Show, Horse Sale, Auto Ice Racing, Kid’s Activities, Photography Show, BAHA Hockey Tournament, Rabbit and Poultry Shows, Horse Play Day, Tack Swap, Working Horse & Driver Contest, and the Kid’s Bozeman Roundup Foot & Wheelchair Rodeo.

OTHER BUSINESS:  Sue said coats from Montana Embroidery with the WinterFest logo on them could be purchased at the office for $25.
