BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:
Commissioner Skinner is a life long resident of Gallatin County. He has been married to JoJo for 31 years. They have two sons – Luke and Jake. Luke is a Sergeant in the US Army who just completed a 15-month tour in Iraq. Joe was involved in a successful agricultural operation for 25 years raising seed potatoes, alfalfa and beef cattle. Joe is an advocate of conservation practices and has experimented with alternative grazing systems and riparian management practices. He graduated from Manhattan High School and received a B.S. degree in Fish & Wildlife Management from MSU.
Joe served nine years on the Gallatin County Planning Board and ran successfully for the County Commission in 2004, taking office on January 1, 2005. He enjoys fly fishing, elk hunting and taking church mission trips – having traveled to Haiti, India and Nepal.
