What happens after the Defendant is served?

The Defendant has twenty (20) days from the date of service to file an Answer with the Court.  If the defendant fails to answer you can make a motion to the court to enter a default judgment.  You cannot ask for more than the amount that you listed in your complaint. You must send a copy of your motion to the defendant at his last known address.  If the court agrees with your motion you will be given a default judgment.
