Ombudsman are impartial mediators who help individuals living in nursing homes or assisted living facilities, understand and exercise their right to good long-term care. They help resolve problems and provide in-service training on residents’ rights, issues to residents, friends and family, facility staff and representatives of community groups or other public agencies.
