Gallatin City-County Health Department’s Immunization Program
Due to more stringent Federal guidelines related to the VFC (Vaccines for Children) Program, the Gallatin City-County Health Department regrets we will no longer be able to provide routine childhood vaccinations for children, for the suggested donation of $14.00, if you have insurance that pays for vaccines. We must use our privately purchased vaccines for insured children aged 0 through their 18th birthday.
Recent State of Montana legislation has mandated that specific types of insurance companies cover routine childhood immunizations through the age of seven. The cost of these vaccines will be paid by the insurance company, without first being applied to your deductible.
If your child is covered by insurance that pays for routine immunizations for dependent children through age 7 years according to the schedule of immunizations which is recommended by the ACIP (Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices) you will be asked to pay for vaccinations at the time of service. You will be given a coded receipt that you may submit to you insurance requesting reimbursement. You will need to inquire whether your insurance company pays for immunizations before you arrive for your appointment. At this time, Gallatin City-County Health Department does not submit the billing for insurance, so you will be expected to pay for the vaccines at the time of service and file your own claims for reimbursement.
For those patients who:
- have no health insurance
- are underinsured (meaning your child’s insurance company does not pay for vaccines)
- have Medicaid
- are American Indian or Alaskan Native
we will continue to use our federally funded VFC (Vaccines for Children) stock at the suggested donation of $14.00 per vaccine administered.
Gallatin City-County Health Department regular clinic hours are every Monday & Wednesday (except holidays), with one evening and one Saturday clinic per month. Appointments are needed. Please call 582-3100 if you have any questions, to make an appointment, or to inquire about current pricing on privately purchased vaccine.
