Geographic Information System Analyst
The Gallatin County GIS Department is a County Department servicing all other Departments and Elected offices, Fire Districts, County Boards, 911, and the general public.  We are seeking a high-energy, talented individual who enjoys project diversity to assist the GIS Manager in designing, developing and implementing a centralized geographic information system that accommodates the needs of all users for the purpose of delivering accurate and timely information while automating tasks and workflows.

The GIS Analyst will be responsible for GIS system maintenance and serve as the technical point of contact.  This position will be fully integrated into our team, which will involve assisting with all aspects of department work, including field data collection, map output, high-level data analysis and reporting, public assistance, user support, backup and recovery, customized applications, enterprise database applications, as well as internal and external web-based tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must be an advanced user of ESRI client and server products, experienced with RDBMS and Geodatabase design, be skilled in the development of web-based GIS applications, and possess a competency in geography and cartography.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team player, possessing a fervent desire and ability to share and promote technology is a must.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  The required knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in geography, cartography, earth science, computer science, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years work experience in GIS operations.  This position must possess a valid Montana driver’s license.

NOTE:  This position must be willing to work in a smoke free environment.


CLOSTING DATE:
This position is open until filled; however, applicants are encouraged

Gallatin County Courthouse, GIS  Department , Bozeman, MT  
SALARY:
$3,184.00 to $3,495.00 / Month to start DOQ + Benefits
WORK HOURS:
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
